The PM are stoked to announce Rone’s on board to add artistic flourishes to our space. Rone’s ‘girls’ have appeared all over the world; their still, contemplative faces peering out onto the streets. Their indistinct facial formation doesn’t represent ‘happy’, but the moments before or after.
As a member of Melbourne’s Everfresh crew, you can find these oversized, mute beauties anywhere around the inner-northern suburbs staring down at passersby. Attached to laneways, walls and underpasses, they take the form of both paste-ups and stencils.
Having become one of Melbourne’s most prolific artists, Rone has taken his girls to Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Toyko, Barcelona and Hong Kong and has had his work acquired by the National Gallery of Australia. None too shabby for an artist that began his career working out of a small flat. We’re itching to see what he’s got in store.
