Melbourne man Meggs is the first artist we’re unleashing in our list of collaborators featured in the Containers of Modern Art (COMA).
Meggs’ colourful aerosols and painterly street art creations have seen him featured in gallery collections and splattered across walls both locally and internationally. His menacing pop-art inspired pieces draw from the aesthetic language of cartoons and sci-fi films, and Meggs’ career has progressed to see him recognised as one of the city’s most talented multi-platform artists.
One of the founding members of Everfresh, Meggs has exhibited in Australia, Hong Kong, London and Los Angeles, as well as participating in many group exhibitions around the world. Adept at stencils, poster art and mixed media, Meggs is the perfect fit as our first feature artist.
Amongst other activities Meggs gives The PM a live paint overhaul on our opening weekend, Thursday November 1 – Sunday November 4, and will exhibit his works in one of our containers. Exciting, huh?
